Drip tray (324x270x25 mm) KP-BDD6 – how to choose the right one
The KP-BDD6 is a 324 x 270 x 25 mm polyethylene drip tray, designed to work at temperatures up to 80°C. It catches condensate from under the evaporator and directs it to the drain, instead of letting it drip onto product in the chamber.
This item was developed as a wider version of the same outline. The length stayed the same, with 50 mm added on the other axis - a seemingly small difference that matters in practice when the coil block extends beyond the narrower tray and water condenses right next to its edge.
The wider the tray, the more the stiffness of its support matters. A tray full of water with an area close to 900 cm2 sags in the middle if it rests only on two edges - the middle then starts collecting water instead of draining it.

When the evaporator's outline, seen from above, extends beyond the narrower tray. The tray should cover the whole drip zone with margin on both sides, not just its centre.
Does a tray this size need supporting along its full length?
It is worth it if the furniture's construction allows. Supporting the middle keeps the intended slope even when the tray is fully filled with water.
Where does polyethylene do better than sheet metal for a part like this?
It does not corrode in a constantly damp environment and needs no edge protection after cutting. Sheet metal in this role can start rusting from the drainage side after a few seasons.
