Self-regulating heating cable, round – various models GK-ASC – how to choose the right one
The GK-ASC self-regulating heating cable has outside dimensions of 12.5 × 5.5 mm and an output within 10–40 W/m at 230 V. It works at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, and the minimum bending radius is 30 mm.
With this cable the geometry of the route needs more attention than with the silicone versions: twice the bending radius and a noticeably larger cross-section have to be allowed for while the run is still being drawn, not during installation.
A higher output ceiling than in the rectangular version – 40 instead of 30 W/m – is the main reason this variant is chosen, provided the cross-section fits into the space available.

In cross-section and output ceiling. This model is 12.5 × 5.5 mm and reaches 40 W/m; the rectangular version is narrower – 10.5 × 5.5 mm – and stops at 30 W/m.
Why is the temperature range narrower than in the silicone cables?
Because it is a different construction and different materials. The manufacturer gives -40°C to +85°C for it, whereas the silicone versions work from -60°C to +200°C.
Which connection kit fits it?
The GK-A/CSCK1 or the GK-A/CSCK10 – both sets serve the GK-ASC as well as the GK-CSC.
