Self-adhesive silicone heating mat – various models GK-MSN – how to choose the right one
GK-MSN is a silicone heating mat with a self-adhesive layer on one side, supplied at 230 V. It is made of moisture-resistant silicone rubber, and the maximum working temperature reaches 180°C.
One hundred and eighty degrees is a ceiling at which not only the mat itself counts, but also what it is bonded to. The bonding surface has to withstand that temperature along with it, so the substrate is chosen just as carefully as the model of mat.
The metre-long lead, in turn, sets the radius for installation. If the connection point falls further away, you reach for the GK-MSN29175 version with a lead of about a metre and a half, or plan the box closer; the manufacturer also accepts enquiries about other builds.

The self-adhesive layer is on one side only and calls for a clean, smooth substrate. The working temperature of up to 180°C also remains a constraint – the material under the mat has to withstand it.
How far does the connecting lead reach?
About one metre as standard. The GK-MSN29175 variant has a longer one, roughly 1500 mm, and that is the only difference between them given in the data sheet.
Is the mat suitable for damp locations?
The manufacturer describes the silicone rubber as resistant to moisture and quotes the EN 60335 standard and CE certification. The conditions of a particular installation are, however, worth agreeing, because the data sheet does not define a degree of protection.
