Trap 1 1/2" KZ-Syfon 1 1/2" – how to choose the right one
The 1 1/2 inch trap is a basic solution in white PVC, matched to the most common outlet size of a sink bowl.
The trap maintains the water seal that separates the inside of the room from the waste system. That is its only, but crucial, task – when the water evaporates out of it, the smell from the installation comes back into the kitchen.
That is why, at stations used seasonally or rarely, it is worth running water through once in a while, even if nobody is washing up there. A simple action that nobody usually remembers.

Because the water forming the water seal has evaporated. Running the water for a dozen or so seconds is enough to restore the odour barrier.
Is a PVC trap suitable for catering?
For stations under moderate load yes. With large amounts of grease and hot water, metal versions are more often chosen.
