Trap KP-688 – how to choose the right one
KP-688 is a trap made of grey polyethylene with an ABS nut, used for draining water from units and refrigeration appliances. The nut is not welded to the body, so the connection remains detachable.
The nut is key to the whole selection here. In two related models the manufacturer describes it as welded to the body, whereas in this one it has been made a detachable connection – so the part can be unscrewed and reassembled.
For servicing this means a different way of working: cleaning is done on site, without replacing the whole component. The cost is a joint that has to be checked, because every unscrewing takes up some of the seal's margin.

Will ABS withstand cyclic washing with chemicals?
Typical cleaning agents used in catering are not a problem for it, but strong solvents can dull and weaken it. The manufacturer does not give a list of approved preparations here, so with aggressive chemicals it is worth asking first.
