Digital thermometer with a solar cell and a 1.5 m probe (-50/+99°C) white CON-SOLAR-C – how to choose the right one
CON-SOLAR-C is a white digital thermometer with a 1500 mm probe, measuring from -50 to +99°C with an accuracy of ±1°C. It is powered by a solar cell and the PVC housing has an IP65 protection rating.
Powering by light solves the problem that comes back most often with thermometers: a flat battery and a cable that cannot be routed. The condition is that the panel is lit, so the item works on a visible, well-lit front rather than in a darkened back room.
The 62 × 29.5 mm panel goes into a 60 × 26 mm cut-out on clips, so mounting needs no screws from behind. The manufacturer also gives the permissible relative humidity in operation: from 5 to 85%.

Ask a questionWhat happens to the reading once the shop lights are switched off?
The manufacturer does not describe any buffered operation of the cell, so the behaviour in darkness is worth confirming before installation. The very principle of the supply assumes that light reaches the panel.
Does IP65 allow the front to be washed with a jet of water?
IP65 covers dust and a jet of water directed at the housing. It does not cover high-pressure cleaning or immersion – higher protection ratings are needed for that.
How far will the probe reach?
It is 1500 mm long, which on a typical display case allows it to be routed from the panel on the front into the interior of the cabinet.
