The type of output voltage is also worth noting. 12 VAC is an alternating voltage, so a load designed for 12 V DC will not work from it without a rectifier circuit.

How many loads may be connected to one transformer?
The sum of their draw decides, and it has to fit within 5 VA. At such low power, being wrong by a single component can overload the winding.
