Lock (15 mm) KP-AC-14901 – how to choose the right one
KP-AC-14901 is a 15 mm lock with a zinc-plated steel housing, intended for doors or drawers. It is the smallest item in the KP-AC-149x family.
The size in the name determines the fit to the material the lock passes through. Fifteen millimetres is not much, so it usually goes into thin fronts and drawers rather than insulated leaves.
The zinc plating sets this index apart from the middle items in the family, which are made of stainless steel. The same remark applies to the largest, 35 mm size, also described as zinc-plated.

The data sheet gives the size in the name but does not specify whether it refers to the material thickness or the body length. Before ordering it is better to compare it with the lock being removed.
Why is the smallest lock zinc-plated rather than stainless?
The manufacturer does not justify the choice of material for individual sizes. All that can be seen from the family listing is that stainless steel falls to the three middle items.
