SR-6 is an end cap of black rubber intended for square profiles. Rubber behaves differently from rigid plastic: it stretches over the edge of the profile and sits against it over its whole surface, instead of resting at a few points.
A soft finish has one more advantage – it does not knock against the floor and does not mark it when a light structure is moved. With frames that often change place, that makes a noticeable difference against a finish of hard plastic.

How do you select the size?
By the outside outline of the profile, measured at its end. If the profile has been cut by hand and the edge is slightly uneven, rubber will usually forgive it – rigid plastic tends to be more demanding in that respect.
