Does the catch selection change as the gasket wears?

The catch dimension stays fixed, but a settled gasket changes the actual closing pressure of the door. If closing feels too light after years of use, the gasket is checked first, not the catch range.

Does the HP version matter for rarely opened doors?

The material is affected regardless of the number of cycles – corrosion progresses even when the door stays closed. In a damp atmosphere, stainless steel makes sense even in cold rooms opened only occasionally.
