Magnetic catch ZT-MAG01 – how to choose the right one
ZT-MAG01 is a magnetic catch with an aluminium housing. It is a middle ground between plastic and steel: lighter than steel, yet stiffer and more durable than plastic.
Aluminium does not need a coating to keep from rusting – it is protected by its own oxide layer, which rebuilds itself after a scratch. A scratch on this body therefore does not start the process that on steel ends in a rust-coloured mark.
During installation it is worth remembering how soft the material is. A thread in aluminium strips faster than in steel, so the screws are not forced home, especially where the part is repeatedly removed.
