Magnetic catch ZT-MAG01 – how to choose the right one
ZT-MAG01 is a magnetic catch in an aluminium housing. It is a middle course between plastic and steel: a weight close to plastic, with rigidity and durability closer to metal.
Aluminium does not need a coating to keep from rusting – it is protected by its own oxide layer, which rebuilds itself after a scratch. A scratch on this body therefore does not start the process that on steel ends in a rust-coloured mark.
During installation it is worth remembering how soft the material is. A thread in aluminium strips faster than in steel, so the screws are not forced home, especially where the part is repeatedly removed.

Yes, this material does not rust and copes well with condensate. Where there is contact with salt and aggressive chemicals, however, stainless fittings keep the advantage.
How many times can such a catch be unscrewed and refitted?
The manufacturer does not state this, but a thread in soft metal strips faster than in steel. On a unit intended for frequent dismantling it is worth assuming from the outset that the screws will be replaced.
