Toggle latch (stainless steel) KP-AC-1460 – how to choose the right one
KP-AC-1460 is a draw catch in AISI-304 stainless steel. Once closed, the lever tensions the mechanism and pulls the leaf onto the frame, so the gasket is compressed around the whole perimeter.
That difference determines the application. Where contact alone is not enough – because the gasket is thick and the interior has to stay sealed – an ordinary fitting gives way to a mechanism that can force the closure.
Uncoated steel simplifies keeping things clean. There is no lacquer here to chip when struck by a trolley, and no layer to expose the material underneath.

Yes, but the movement has two stages: first you bring the leaf up, then you lower the lever. That is deliberate friction – the mechanism must not be able to engage by accident.
What does AISI-304 give on a draw catch?
The mechanism works on pivots that water enters during washing. A stainless grade leaves no rust-coloured marks there, and a moving joint cannot be cleaned properly anyway.
