Catch ZT-136 – how to choose the right one
ZT-136 is a catch combining a zinc-plated steel body with a polyamide part. The metal carries the loads and holds the fixing, while the plastic works at the point of contact with the leaf.
The division of roles makes practical sense. Steel does not deform as the screws are tightened, and polyamide dampens the sound of closing and leaves no marks on the surface it bears against.
In service it is above all the plastic part that wears, and it is on that part that the age of the fitting shows. The body usually stays serviceable longer, but the manufacturer does not list the plastic part as a separate item.
