Glass hinge (chrome-plated) ZW-SH180 – how to choose the right one
ZW-SH180 is a glass hinge in chrome-plated brass, taking panes from 6 to 10 mm thick. The maximum load is 20 kg for a pair of hinges fitted at the top and at the bottom.
A figure given per pair rather than per piece has a direct bearing on selection. Twenty kilograms is the entire weight of the leaf, so with 8 mm glass it starts to limit the format even on small doors.
Stronger models work in the same thickness range – ZW-GL12 and ZW-GL11M, declared at 45 kg. ZW-SH180 is the choice for light doors, where the size of the fitting matters rather than a reserve of load capacity.

No, the value applies to the top and bottom set. When calculating the weight, the whole leaf is taken into account, not half of it.
What if the pane is 4 mm?
It falls outside the declared range and the clamp will not grip it evenly. For thinner panes the range includes fittings specified from 5 mm.
