Glass hinge (6-10 mm thick) chrome ZW-GL12 – how to choose the right one
ZW-GL12 is a glass hinge with a declared load of 45 kg, taking panes of 6–10 mm and intended for wall mounting. The standard version is chrome-plated brass, while the brushed version is made by the manufacturer on request.
Wall mounting changes the whole logic of the joint. One side of the hinge is held not by the door frame but by the wall or a structural post, so the load capacity of the substrate becomes part of the selection on a par with the rating of the fitting.
It is worth noting a discrepancy in the data sheet: the description speaks of chrome-plated brass, while the material field gives ZnAl. If the material matters in your documentation, confirm it before ordering.

One side of the hinge is fixed to a building wall or load-bearing structure, while the other clamps onto the pane. There is no door frame here into which the fitting could be screwed.
How does it differ from ZW-GL11M?
Both declare 45 kg and the same glass range. ZW-GL11M, however, has an adjustable closing force, which the manufacturer does not mention for ZW-GL12.
When is it worth asking for the brushed version?
When the remaining fittings in the project have a matt finish. Chrome stands out visibly against brushed steel.
