Glass hinge (6-8 mm thick) ZW-8002 SET – how to choose the right one
ZW-8002 SET is a glass hinge of mixed construction: a galvanised steel core coated with grey polyamide. It takes panes from 6 to 8 mm thick and is supplied as a complete set.
A polyamide coating on a steel core gives two things at once – the stiffness of metal and a soft surface in contact with the glass. When clamping onto a pane, hard metal is always a risk.
The recommendation to grease the bush is a rarity in this range and deserves to be taken seriously. A dry bush can seize in its seat during installation, and reworking the joint with the glass already fitted is troublesome.
