Hinge (polyamide) ZW-420PV – how to choose the right one
ZW-420PV is a black polyamide hinge for doors up to 10 kg, screwed on with four Ø5 mm screws and fitted with a steel pin. The manufacturer describes it together with the 10 mm washer ZW-420CR.
A steel pin in a plastic body is a typical compromise: the body does not corrode and weighs nothing, while the most heavily loaded part of the axis is metal. Wear is then transferred to the plastic, which is cheaper to replace.
The washer is a separate item and easy to forget. Without it the hinge sits ten millimetres closer to the body, which on a flush front changes the whole geometry of the leaf.
