Lift hinge (stainless steel), right ZW-1892D – how to choose the right one

ZW-1892D is a right-hand lift hinge in AISI-304 stainless steel, screwed to the structure. The opening leaf rises instead of moving on the same level.

This family is supplied only in handed versions, so every order starts by establishing the direction of opening. The D index serves right-hand doors.

Lift hinges usually make sense where the door closes onto a flat, smooth surface. If the structure has no problem with that, a standard screw-on hinge is the cheaper and simpler choice.

When is a lift hinge better than an ordinary one?

When the leaf rubs against a surface as it opens – a plinth, a trim strip or the floor. The lift moves it away from that plane in the first phase of the movement.

Can I mix lift hinges with ordinary ones on one door?

That is a bad idea. The leaf has one pivot axis, and different paths of movement at the top and bottom point lead to jamming or to the fitting wearing out.
