Slow-closing hinge (3.0±0.3 N*m) ZW-TRD-303 – how to choose the right one
ZW-TRD-303 is a slow-closing hinge with a torque of 3.0 ±0.3 N·m in a galvanised steel housing. The manufacturer states an operating temperature range from -10 to 50°C and a maximum rotational speed of 50 rpm.
It is the weakest member of a five-part series in which the torque rises by one newton metre at a time up to 7.0 N·m. The tighter tolerance on this model – ±0.3 instead of ±0.5 – means the most predictable flap behaviour in the whole family.
The 3.0 model is the starting point for light lids and small flaps. If the flap drops too quickly after a trial installation, the next step is ZW-TRD-403, one newton metre stronger.

The manufacturer states ±0.3 N·m only for the 3.0 model and ±0.5 for the rest. In practice this means less spread between pieces from the same delivery.
How is the torque matched to a particular flap?
It depends on the weight of the flap and on the distance of its centre of mass from the axis of rotation. Without calculations, the surest way is to check on a trial unit, starting from the lower torque.
