Slow-closing hinge (5.0±0.5 N*m) ZW-TRD-503 – how to choose the right one
ZW-TRD-503 is a slow-closing hinge with a torque of 5.0 ±0.5 N·m in a galvanised steel housing, intended for mounting on either side of the flap.
The 5.0 model sits exactly in the middle of a series spanning 3.0 to 7.0 N·m. When selecting without earlier trials it is usually the most sensible first shot – it leaves room for correction in either direction.
It is worth remembering that the torque does not describe the weight of the flap, only the resistance offered to the movement. The same lid mounted on a longer arm will behave quite differently on the same hinge.

Will a slow-closing hinge replace a self-closer?
No. This mechanism slows the movement of the flap but does not bring it to the closed position. Separate items in this range serve for automatic closing.
