Hinge (ZnAl) ZW-1430 – how to choose the right one
ZW-1430 is a hinge in chrome-plated ZnAl5 alloy with a steel pin, screwed on with four Ø5 mm screws. The manufacturer also supplies a variant with a brass pin as ZW-1430FL.
The pin material determines how the axis behaves over time. Steel is harder and cheaper, brass runs more quietly and will not seize in its seat when the appliance stands idle for longer periods.
The 1430, 1435 and 440 family shares the same logic: an alloy base, a steel pin in the basic version and a brass one in the FL execution. What differs is the screw diameters and the body dimensions.
