Hinge (ZnAl) ZW-305 – how to choose the right one

ZW-305 is a hinge in ZnAl5 alloy with a chrome-plated finish, declared for doors up to 10 kg and screwed on with four Ø5 mm screws.

Chrome is the standard in this group, but on this particular model the manufacturer offers a choice. The matt variant is listed separately as ZW-305MT, so the decision on appearance is taken at the ordering stage.

A glossy coating looks good next to polished steel and glass. In installations kept matt the same hinge can stand out from the other fittings, despite identical geometry.

Do chrome and matt have the same load capacity?

Yes, the manufacturer describes both variants for 10 kg with four Ø5 mm screws. The only difference is the surface finish.

Does the chrome coating stand up to cleaning with acidic agents?

The data sheet does not specify chemical resistance. With regular contact with aggressive chemicals, stainless steel fittings from the same range are the safer choice.
