Mesh filter KP-FSI – how to choose the right one

The KP-FSI mesh filter is made to the customer's specification: mesh in acid-resistant AISI-304 steel, frame available in AISI-304 or in galvanised steel. The dimension and the fixing method are agreed at the ordering stage.

The choice of frame is a decision about durability, not about looks. The zinc coating comes off fastest at the edges and at the joints, and the exposed substrate starts leaving rusty streaks on the hood panel. Where filters go into the dishwasher every day, an acid-resistant frame pays back the difference in price.

Made-to-measure production is sometimes the only option in hoods whose rail has an unusual depth or a clear opening outside the catalogue range. It is worth attaching a photograph of the seat from the side to the enquiry – it shows whether the filter is held by a catch, by a spring, or simply slides into a guide.

• Condensate hoods over a hood-type dishwasher, where mainly water vapour is collected
• Older hoods with a seat that no catalogue filter fits
• Stations without frying – bains-marie, water boilers, heated serving counters
• Hoods of an unusual length, where the filter dimension follows from how the run is divided up
