LED hood lamp KP-DL-LED – how to choose the right one
The KP-DL-LED LED lamp lights the working station under a catering hood. It is supplied from a 220–240 V mains, draws 4 W, emits light at 4000 K, and its housing is made of 201 stainless steel.
The 4000 K colour falls in the middle: it has neither the yellow cast of warm light nor the hospital chill of 5500 K fittings. At the serving counter and on the worktop it allows the colour of a dish to be judged close to what the guest will see in the dining room.
Several figures from the data sheet translate directly into the kitchen. Starting at 180 V means the lamp lights up despite the voltage drop that occurs when several high-power appliances start at once. The board operating temperature, given as 60°C ±2%, falls within the conditions prevailing under a hood. Steel 201, on the other hand, is a chromium-manganese grade, cheaper and less resistant to chlorides than AISI-304 – in a hood this works in the lamp's favour, because the shield keeps it out of the direct steam stream.

Ask a questionCan the lamp be washed with a jet of water?
The data sheet does not give an unambiguous IP protection rating, so washing with a jet is out. The housing is wiped with a damp cloth after the power has been disconnected.
What does starting at a low voltage of 180 V give you?
The lamp lights up and stays lit even during a voltage dip in the installation. In a kitchen such dips occur when several high-power loads start at the same time.
How should the beam angle be set?
The clip allows the lamp to be tilted within a small range – enough for the beam to fall on the worktop rather than on the filters. The setting is worth adjusting once the hood has been installed, looking at the shadows on the range.
