Gastronorm container 325x176x150 mm (polycarbonate) KZ-GNT1315 – how to choose the right one

A polycarbonate GN 1/3 150 mm high is a 5.0 l container with a 325 × 176 mm footprint. Five litres in a transparent container covers the daily requirement for one ingredient in a medium-sized kitchen, and the level of the contents is visible without opening it.

A deeper container stops being convenient for display, but works well for preparation: it holds a whole batch of brine or batter, and transparency allows the process to be monitored without looking inside.

At five kilograms of contents, the container is carried with both hands. On a rack, it's worth keeping it at a height between hip and shoulder, so that taking it out doesn't require lifting the weight overhead.

What the GN sizes mean and how to choose the depth – we explained it in the selection guide for this category.

Where it works

  • Preparing brines and batters in daily batches
  • Storing chilled sauces in the back of house
  • Marinating larger portions of meat or vegetables
  • Cold room racks with a GN 1/3 module

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have not found your answer? Give the GN size and the intended use – we will select the containers.

Ask a question
Is the container suitable for proving dough?

Transparent walls allow the volume to be observed without lifting the lid, which is practical for yeast doughs. It's just worth filling the container to no more than half, leaving room for rising.

How much does a full container weigh?

About five kilograms of contents alone for a product with a density close to water, plus the small weight of the plastic body.

Is the lid the same as for the shallow GN 1/3 versions?

Yes, KZ-GNT13 or KZ-GNP13 fits a 325 × 176 mm rim at all depths of this module.
