Profile – PU-506 + PU-507 – how to choose the right one

PU-506 and PU-507 are a grey pair of rigid PVC body profiles, with a chamber for a heating cable and a magnetic slot. The set fits into the unit's construction, between the outer cladding and the inside of the room.

In series production, this type of profile is a component that sets the whole assembly sequence. The profile is fitted to the frame before the insulation fill, which means the heating cable has to be planned at the same stage – once the foam is injected, no channel is accessible from the construction side anymore.

For the same reason, it's worth planning the cutting layout with a margin for the corners. Sections cut at an angle use more material than the sum of the side lengths, and with a repeating series this difference adds up.

When should the heating cable be fitted?

Before the construction is closed with insulation. The channel in the profile is only accessible while the frame remains open on the fill side.

Are the sections joined flush or at an angle?

At the corners, usually at an angle, since the profile runs around the frame's perimeter. A mitre cut increases material use, so it's worth factoring this into the cutting calculation.

Can a longer profile be ordered to reduce the number of joins?

Longer sections are made to order. In a repeating series, a well-chosen section length can eliminate most of the waste.
