Profile – PU-C3 + PU-C4 – how to choose the right one
PU-C3 and PU-C4 are a grey pair of rigid PVC body profiles, in which the cross-section's chamber is designed for a refrigeration circuit tube. The system's hot side then heats the frame instead of a separate electric cable.
The benefit is direct: heat that has to be removed from the condenser anyway returns to the structure and keeps the frame from frosting over. The unit draws no extra energy for this, and one electrical circuit with its own power supply and control is removed from the balance.
The cost of this solution is structural, not purchasing-related: the tube's route has to be planned together with the frame, since routing copper around the frame's perimeter dictates the assembly sequence and bending radii. In upgrading an existing unit, this can be harder than adding a heating cable.

Can a profile like this be used in an existing unit?
It's harder than in a new one, since the tube's route has to be run around the frame's perimeter together with the rest of the system. In upgrades, sticking with the electric cable is more common.
What diameter of tube fits the channel?
The dimension is checked on the cross-section drawing before the system is designed. The channel has a fixed geometry, so it's this that limits the choice of tube, not the other way round.
