Grommet KP-PG14x8 – how to choose the right one
The KP-PG14x8 is a black rubber grommet, the largest of the three items designated in this system. It shields the cable where it passes through the sheet metal and closes the cut-out from inside the appliance.
A thicker cable carries more mass hanging at the hole. It is that mass, not movement alone, that works play into the passage over time – which is why for a supply cable it is better to choose a part that grips the cable tightly.
The catalogue carries the next sizes under different designations, available in white and grey versions as well. The step in size there is marked, so intermediate diameters are looked for in this very item.

Will a grommet replace a cable gland?
Not in every situation. It protects the insulation and closes the hole, but it does not clamp on the cable the way a gland with a screwed ring does.
