The KP-AC-1058 catch is a grey polyamide part that holds a small door or a flap in the closed position. It works purely mechanically, without a lock and without a magnet.
The whole function rests on the springiness of the plastic: the part deforms as the striker passes and returns to shape behind it. Polyamide suits this better than rigid plastics, because it takes repeated deformation without cracking.
