Hinge (ZnAl) ZW-1435 – how to choose the right one

ZW-1435 is a hinge in chrome-plated ZnAl5 alloy with a steel pin, fixed with four Ø5.5 mm screws. The variant with a brass pin is listed as ZW-1435FL.

Half a millimetre of difference in screw diameter against ZW-1430 seems a detail, but when marking out it decides whether the fitting will land in the existing holes. With a replacement, this dimension has to be checked first.

Apart from the fixing, both models are described identically. The choice therefore comes down to matching the structure, not to a difference in the class of fitting.

Will ZW-1430 fit in place of ZW-1435?

The ZW-1430 screws are half a millimetre thinner, so they will go into the larger hole, but with play. On a load-bearing joint it is better to match the fitting to the actual hole pattern.

Does the FL version have different mounting dimensions?

The manufacturer differentiates it by the pin material, not by the fixing. Where the fit is critical it is still worth comparing the drawings of both indexes.
