Hinge (ZnAl) ZW-440 – how to choose the right one

ZW-440 is a screw-on hinge in chrome-plated ZnAl5 alloy, fitted with a steel pin and four holes for Ø5 mm screws. The brass variant is ZW-440FL.

The four-hundred numbering covers several closely related fittings – alongside ZW-440 there are ZW-445 with an assigned spacer and the stainless ZW-458. A shared prefix does not, however, mean shared dimensions.

For a new design this model is a good starting point: standard Ø5 mm screws, mounting without a spacer and an alternative pin material available.

How does ZW-440 differ from ZW-445?

Above all in that ZW-445 is used with the 10 mm spacer ZW-AC1149, while ZW-440 is fitted without a spacer.

Can the pin be changed to brass after purchase?

The manufacturer runs this as a separate execution with its own index, not as a spare part. The choice of axis material is made at the time of ordering.
