Why are PVC and aluminium profiles combined in cold room doors?
PVC profiles form a thermal break that stops the frame freezing through and prevents vapour condensing on the outside of the door (eliminating thermal bridges), while aluminium profiles stiffen the leaf and prevent warping under large temperature differences.
What types of profile does AiFO offer?
Door edge profiles (wrapping the edge of the PUR/PIR panel, with seats for gaskets), frame profiles (surface-mounted or recessed, able to take heating cables) and cover and finishing profiles (an attractive, hygienic finish for joints in line with HACCP).
Why are heating cables fitted into frame profiles?
The design of the frame profiles allows heating cables to be fitted easily, particularly in freezer rooms. This stops the gasket freezing to the frame and keeps the door tight and easy to open.
