How are welded magnetic gaskets made at AiFO? Behind the scenes of a tight seal
In the world of professional refrigeration, the gasket is the only component that "works" every time the door is opened and closed. It has to be flexible, resistant to sub-zero temperatures, easy to clean and – most importantly – perfectly fitted. Even a one-millimetre gap in a corner can leave the condensing unit running non-stop, generating enormous costs.

Stage 1: Precise mitre cutting of the profile
Everything starts with selecting the right profile. Our range includes dozens of types of gasket profile, matching most of the appliances on the market (OEM and replacements). The profile is cut on precision guillotines at an angle of $45^{\circ}$. This is a critical moment – an error at this stage would make it impossible to create a perfect, tightly sealing rectangle.
Stage 2: The heart of the process – welding the corners
This is where the magic happens that sets a professional gasket apart from a cheap replacement. Welded magnetic gaskets are produced by joining the ends of the profiles at high temperature using specialist welding machines for thermoplastics (PVC/TPE).
- Monolithic structure: Welding makes the corner a single, uniform element. There is no question of gluing, which could give way at low temperatures.
- Appearance and hygiene: A correctly executed weld is flat and smooth. As a result, food residues and bacteria do not build up in the corners, which is crucial for meeting HACCP standards.
Stage 3: Inserting the magnetic strip
Once the profile has been welded, a magnetic strip is inserted into a dedicated chamber inside the gasket. It is this strip that pulls the door against the door frame. Stage 4: Quality control and dimensional checks
Every gasket that leaves our production line undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection. In refrigeration we work in millimetres – only a perfect perimeter guarantees that the gasket will not wrinkle or stand proud once fitted.
