A hygienic profile closes the joint, a gasket seals the door, a bumper protects the panel

A hygienic profile covers the joint between the panels and rounds off the corner, so that dirt does not collect there and so that it can be wiped clean in one pass. That is a practical and a sanitary requirement at once – the sharp angle between two panels is the place where an inspection most often finds soiling. Profiles come in fixed lengths, so what counts when ordering is the perimeter of the room, not the running metres alone.

A cold room door gasket works under different conditions than a cabinet gasket: the leaf is heavier, there are fewer cycles, but the temperature difference is larger. It is chosen to match the frame profile, and in freezer rooms it is additionally checked for freezing up – a leak shows up as frost at one point of the perimeter, not along the whole of it.

Bumpers and buffers are the kind of part that pays for itself at the first hit from a trolley. An insulated panel has a thin skin, and a dent in it is not merely cosmetic – it breaks the seal of the insulation layer and lets moisture into the core.

Camlock systems are eccentric locks that join the panels. They are fitted into the panel at the factory and tightened with a key through an opening – the joint can be undone, so the room can be moved.
