Glass clamps – point fixings and tube mounts
A glass clamp holds the pane at a point and carries its weight into the structure of the display case or shelving. Every model states the glass thickness and the diameter of the tube it sits on, because being a millimetre out ends with the pane cracking as the clamp is tightened. Decorative screws and cover rosettes are in the same category, so the fixing can be put together in one order.

How to choose
The clamp is chosen for the glass thickness and for what it sits on
The first figure is the thickness of the pane. A clamp has a defined range – from 4 to 16 mm depending on the model – and outside it will either not close on the glass or will not grip it evenly. Some clamps have a range (6–8 mm, for example) and then the set includes gaskets for both thicknesses; when ordering it is worth checking whether you are getting the full set.
The second decision is the substrate. A clamp for a flat surface screws to a worktop, a panel or a profile. A tube clamp has a foot shaped for a specific diameter – Ø28, Ø33.7, Ø36, Ø42.4 or Ø50.8 mm – and on another tube it will rock. Corner clamps are a separate group, joining two panes at an angle.
The third thing is the material and the finish, because they decide how long it lasts in a given environment. AISI-304 is enough in a dry display, AISI-316 copes better with humidity, salt and cleaning agents – which is why it appears on fish displays and wet lines. Chrome-plated brass and aluminium are an aesthetic choice, polyamide the cheapest and lightest.
