Condensate evaporation trays and pans
A condensate evaporation tray collects water from the evaporator where the cabinet has no drain to the sewer, and gets rid of it with heat from the unit or from a heater. Too little capacity ends in an overflow under the appliance, too weak a heater in frost in the tray. We match the capacity to the amount of condensate the chamber produces, and the heater to the evaporation rate required.

How to choose
The tray is chosen for the space in the installation, the heater for the amount of condensate
The first question is not capacity but where the tray has to fit. The height available under the appliance is sometimes limited to a few centimetres, which is why alongside the deep models we have flat ones – 325 × 200 × 41 mm, for instance – holding a similar amount of water in a completely different shape.
The second question is whether the condensate should evaporate on its own or with the help of a heater. Without a heater the tray is only a reservoir that someone has to empty. With a heater the water evaporates as it arrives – the 300 W model evaporates 0.20 l per hour, which for most refrigerated furniture means unattended operation.
The third decision concerns the thermostat. The version with a thermostat switches the heater off when the tray is empty, so it does not run dry. On appliances working seasonally or with uneven load this is a safeguard that pays for itself faster than the price difference.
- First the installation height, only then the capacity
