Magnetic gaskets and inserts

A magnetic gasket closes the cold circuit where the door meets the body, and a gap a millimetre wide in the corner is enough to stop the unit dropping off full duty. Selection starts with the profile that fits the frame, then the magnetic insert that fits the profile; for every item we list what works with what, plus the temperature range and the hardness of the material. Dimensions are given as the length and width of the frame, and corner welding is done at RefPlast on thermoplastic welding machines.

How to choose

The gasket is matched to the frame profile, and the insert to the gasket

Every gasket profile works with a specific magnetic insert – not every insert fits every gasket. On the product pages we list these relations both ways, so from any one part you can reach the complete set.

The second parameter that decides tightness is the attraction force of the insert; we give it for each one. The third is polarity: S-N-S is the standard, but we also make N-S-N when the gasket has to work with an existing system. On double-leaf doors, where the gaskets meet each other, one side must have the opposite arrangement to the other.

We weld the gasket to size. When ordering, you give either the outside dimensions of the finished frame or the dimensions on the gasket centreline – and state which method you used. This is the most common source of mistakes: the difference is twice the profile width on every side.
