How to choose

The leg is chosen for the profile, the load and the unevenness of the floor

The first thing is how it is seated. A push-in leg goes into the structural profile and holds by friction – it has to match its size, because in a 40 × 40 mm profile a 30 × 30 mm leg will wobble. A screw-on leg fixes to a flat base and does not depend on the profile. A threaded leg screws into a socket or into a nut welded into the structure.

The second figure is the load. We give it for a set of three, because that is how the manufacturer declares it – from 200 kg for plastic adapters up to 1000 kg for stainless steel legs. For appliances full of water or product it is worth allowing a margin rather than working to the limit.

The third thing is the adjustment range. Legs differ – from a dozen to several dozen millimetres – and it decides whether the appliance can be levelled on a given floor. In kitchens with a fall towards a floor gully a short range can turn out to be too little on the rear pair of legs.

The material is chosen for the environment. Stainless steel goes where there is water, cleaning and sanitary requirements. Polyamide, polypropylene and ABS are lighter and cheaper but do not have that resistance. End caps are a separate item: they adjust nothing, they only close the profile from below.
