Refrigeration doors: insulated, glazed and sliding
The door is the part through which a refrigerated cabinet loses most cold, and the first thing by which the end customer judges the appliance. We match an insulated leaf to the thickness of the body and the type of gasket, a glazed one to the insulation value of the glass unit and the way it opens: hinged, sliding or Semi Vertical. We build them under the AiFO Glass Doors brand, and the customer's drawing is enough to quote a complete set with the frame, the glazing and the fittings.

How to choose
The door is chosen for the way it opens and for the heat balance
A hinged door opens towards the operator and needs room in front of the appliance. A sliding one takes no space in the aisle, but sealing where the leaves meet is harder and it works with a slide that has to be kept clean. In a cramped shop that difference is often more important than all the thermal figures put together.
A glazed door sells the goods but loses more heat than a solid one. An insulating glass unit limits those losses and prevents misting; on freezer equipment glass heating or a low-emissivity coating is added. An insulated door wins on the energy balance everywhere display is not needed.
Semi Vertical is the design of an inclined display case – opened from the top and forwards, with a shorter reach to the goods. Sliding glass lids are used in chest freezers, where the cold "stands" in the chamber and does not flow out when it is opened.
In every version the gasket is decisive, and whether the leaf seals evenly around the whole perimeter. A leak is recognised by frost in one place, and the cause usually lies in the hinge or in a warped frame, not in the gasket itself.
