Refrigeration and freezer monoblocks for furniture and cold rooms

A monoblock is a complete refrigeration circuit in one housing: compressor, condenser, evaporator and controls, factory-charged with R290 and tested before dispatch. No brazing and no charging on site, which – with the shortage of refrigeration technicians and the F-gas requirements – reduces commissioning to connecting the power. We match it to the cooled volume, the temperature range and the climate class of the surroundings, and we build it under the AiCool brand, with non-standard versions made from a drawing.

How to choose

The monoblock is chosen for the volume, the temperature range and the mounting location

The first figure is the volume of the room or the cabinet the unit has to hold – together with the insulation and with whatever will be put inside. Cooling warm product is a completely different load from holding the temperature of product already chilled, so with high turnover it is chosen with a margin.

The second thing is the temperature range. Chilled and freezer versions differ not only in capacity but also in the way they defrost: below zero the frost builds up faster and the cycle has to be more frequent or active.

The third decision is the mounting location. A wall monoblock goes into an opening in the panel and protrudes on both sides, a ceiling one hangs above and takes up no wall area. In refrigerated furniture the monoblock sits in a cut-out in the body, and then its size and the condensate drainage are what count.

The refrigerant matters both legally and practically. R290 is a hydrocarbon with a very low climate impact, but the charge of the circuit is limited, which translates into the maximum capacity of a single unit.
